LABORATORY SCIENCES TO BE LED BY RADIOLOGIST
PLANO, Texas (July 13, 2011) – The Medical Center of Plano has announced the elevation of Edwin L. Boren, M.D., to Chief of Laboratory Sciences, a post he will hold for two years. Dr. Boren previously served for two years as the department’s vice chief.
“Dr. Boren is an accomplished physician-scientist, and one the hospital is fortunate to have performing this important role on its Executive Committee,” says Troy A. Villarreal, FACHE, president and chief executive officer at The Medical Center of Plano.
A native of Vicksburg, Miss., Dr. Boren received his medical degree in 1993 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. He remained there for a four-year residency in diagnostic radiology. Dr. Boren then continued his postgraduate training as a fellow in nuclear medicine at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Dr. Boren is certified by the American Board of Radiology both as a diagnostic radiologist and as a sub-specialist in field of nuclear medicine.
