Education and fun will go hand-in-hand at hospital’s outdoor spectacular
The Medical Center of Plano is extending an invitation to residents of Collin and neighboring counties to come enjoy Familypalooza,
a health-and-safety fair that will appeal to young and old alike.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 8, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. It will take place under a tent in the parking lot outside Medical Office Building 3, located at 4001 West 15th Street (northwest corner of West 15th and Coit Road) in the heart of Plano.
Many hospital departments will have booths and tables set up to dispense valuable health and safety information laced with a strong dose of interactive fun. School-age fairgoers can earn valuable prizes by learning the good habits that go with being “health-smart.” Grandparents are encouraged to join in the fun by finding out about flexibility, strength, and how to stay safe at home.
Among the very special attractions will be the opportunity to get an up-close look at one of the Plano Fire Department’s shiny new trucks, and to meet Sparky, the department’s mascot.
Officers from the Plano Police Department will be on hand to discuss the city’s anti-drug campaign, and to demonstrate fingerprinting and other examples of the science of crimefighting.
The City of Plano will also be represented by members of its Environmental Services staff, who will share vital information on the importance of water conservation.
Music, clowns, and balloon artists are among the other attractions that have been lined up for Familypalooza. Tasty snacks will be available on-site from commercial food trucks.
Rounding out the event will be Radio Disney (AM/620) with its Rocking Road Show, complete with music, games, and prizes. The whole family is encouraged to come out for a late afternoon and early evening of fun and entertainment.
